DESCRIPCIÓN

2016 La Atrevida (The Bold Girl)

100% Malbec Reserva Especial

The Wine:

Some of us live our lives boldly and that means taking risks, welcoming adventure and making experiments. Winemaker Sitara is uncompromisingly curious and every year makes a nano batch experimental red. In 2016 it was a barrel-fermented Malbec, hand-harvested from nearby Ojos Negros. This Argentine inspired dark red rested 24 months in barrel before bottling. During our barrel tastings we knew we had something special, hence our very first Premium Special Reserve.

Valle Girl Vino:

Winemaker Sitara spent the Spring of 2016 working harvest in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, Argentina. Coming home to sunny Baja she was highly motivated to try her hand at a Mexican Malbec. This minimal intervention wine is its own truest expression. Live boldly, pop a cork and let our Malbec reveal her story.

Tasting Notes:
•Color: Velvety dark maroon
•Aromas: Ripe black cherry, semi-sweet chocolate, cigar box, warm saddle leather and clove
•Flavors and Textures: Rich, lush and supple. Soft, silky tannins, brambly dark fruit and a hint of spice make this wine a well-rounded sipper.
•Food Pairing: Spanish tapas, grilled ostrich steak with red wine sauce, hearty venison stew, pulled duck with plum Sriracha, wild boar ragú.

Guadalupe Valley, Baja California, Mexico
